QuoteThe Ontario College of Trades (College) is pleased to announce the new Code of Ethics for all members of the College. It is important that you are aware of the contents of the Code of Ethics so you can apply its principles to your daily work.

We recognize that the majority of members already display high standards of professionalism and pride in their certification. The Code of Ethics helps strengthen these high standards, and includes obligations related to professional conduct you are most likely already applying in your daily work as a trades professional.

Simply, the Code of Ethics further defines expectations of College members that are already outlined in the Professional Misconduct Regulation (O. Reg. 97/13), which has been in place since 2013.

You are to refer to the Code of Ethics for guidance on how to conduct yourself in the most professional way during interactions with clients, fellow members, the College and other tradespeople.
We have provided a guide that will help you understand the role and value of the Code of Ethics and your obligations in following its contents.

The Code of Ethics is part of the College's general by-law, and can be found on our website at www.collegeoftrades.ca.

If you have any further questions, please call our Client Services Department at 1-855-299-0028 between Monday and Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. One of our client services consultants will be pleased to assist you.
