Fast Stats. Hot! Hot! Hot!

Hello, hello.

So. I'm sure we've experimented with Fast Stats before and had a variable degree of success. They do what they advertise, but they get hot, overheat, get sticky, etc, etc rather often.

But I've been wondering. If we follow their wiring diagram, they have 2 Rs. One R is ment to come from transformer, and the other R is ment to carry 24v over to the Thermostat.  That puts the Fast Stat into series.

What happens if you put all Red wires into the 24v R terminal of the furnace. So 2 Reds from Fast Stat and 3rd thermostat wire going up to the Thermostat.

Same at the Thermostat side. Instead of the Receiver getting 24v from tstat, then sending 24v through itself to the thermostat R. I'd connect all 3 wires (2 Reds from Receiver and the R 24v from furnace) into R terminal of the thermostat.

The idea is to put the Fast Stat into Parallel instead of Series, to avoid/lessen the higher amp draw and overheating issue.

Has anyone experienced this before? Any good out of this, or am I wasting my time?
