Does anyone know of companies who are hiring?

I have my G2, and currently doing commercial gas piping. I do enjoy the piping aspect, but feel that I'm missing out on the more technical part of this trade. I got into this trade to get involved with installs and service/maint.
The company I'm working for has been very slow this year and I can no longer get by on peanuts, I'm sick of Kraft Dinner and being poor.

Any help would be much appreciated,

If i wasn't so broke I'd say if anyone gets me a job I'll give them my first pay cheque.

It don't help much not knowing were you are. Tons of work if you are willing to move to were the work is, I did a lot of moving in my younger days to keep working.

I live in Bowmanville, but i'm used to long commutes

My advice would be to visit the HVAC wholesalers in your area.  There are usually bulletin boards filled with job offers.

Yeah, I know what you mean about starting out fresh from school with little or no experience.

I came out fresh from college thinking I would just come out and hand in my resume and get a job, because "there is a shortage of trades workers", which is true but I didn't know that the word trades was so general which includes nurses, cooks and etc...

There is a shortage of skilled workers in HVAC...but again the word they used is "skilled worker". I have a conversation with interview guy and he said I was unlikely to get the job and I asked him why isn't there a shortage of workers and he replyed to me " oh, there's a shortage, but for skilled workers."

Its rare to find a company willing to hire new guys, they all want experience, this is a huge down fall in the trades, its not that young people aren't interested in getting a job, its that there's no positions for them to fill.
example:
A refirgeration mechanic is only allow 1 apprentice, even with 2 Mechanics still just 1 apprentice, which is stupid in my mind b/c its ok to have 1 mechanic for 1 apprentice but why 2 mechanics for only 1 apprentice ?

the apprentice ratio is there for a reason and that is to make sure that an apprentice has someone to work under. if the ratio became 1-1 like you are suggesting then you would end up with a whole pile of untrained people or a company with apprentices out there working with no supervision.
That being said there are apprentices already out there working with no supervision, but can you imagine a company now that allows an apprentice to work by themselves under a 3-1 ratio, a 1-1 ratio would allow a company to have 3 times the people unskilled out there working.
watch out WSIB!!!!!
