I recently helped my cousin install a Pasapair split mini she bought from Wayfair. It looked pretty straight forward. The wiring instructions were not great but passable. I have attached pictures of the wiring on both the indoor and outdoor units. It has been giving an E0 error and the outside unit has never turned on. The unit inside blows air and just goes to Error 0 after a few seconds. How does the inside unit talk to the outside unit? There is a red wire on the inside unit that doesn't seem to have a location to connect on the outside unit? I tried emailing the company in China but so far no response. The line set was vacuumed out and leak tested so I am pretty sure we are fine on that end. Could she have got a dud? Some things online suggested the PCM board in the indoor unit is bad? Any help or advice is appreciated.

Well you wired it quite wrong. You do have the ground right. Your main power wires red and black need to go on L1 and L2 on the outdoor unit. Doesn't matter which one.

Get rid of the white wire, you don't need a neutral.

Once that is fixed you'll have the available 1,2,3 terminals for your 3 other wires that connect between the indoor and outdoor unit. Pick where you want them and make sure they're on the corresponding number correctly.

You also need to fix the way you put your fork connections on the indoor unit. You can clearly see in the picture you slid them on the top of the square washer when it's supposed to go underneath it, just like on the connections right above it.

Hopefully it'll work and you didn't fry something.
