I have a problem with installing the ecobee thermostat; it blew the fuse in the furnace. I attached a photo and will try to explain the situation. I hope I can get help during the next visit.

The existing thermostat has 4 wires (R, W, Y, G). The G wire is connected to the black wire from the air handler (AH), and the white wire from the AH is connected to the furnace terminal. I pulled out the thermostat wires from the furnace (R, W, B) and the white wire from the AH, then connected them to the PEK ports. This caused the fuse to blow.

Now, I have disconnected the green and black wires between the AH and the thermostat. The ecobee is working, but the air handler can't change the mode.

Should I disconnect air handler wires inside furnace and use the detached control without hookups to the thermostat?

Is there a PEK terminal on your Ecobee?
