Help needed !

Hello all,
I have an old thermostat which I would like to replace with a smart one (sush as Nest or Ecobee). The wires seen (cf photo) behind the thermostat are bundled together.

Questions :
1) is Nest or Ecobee compatible with this existing wiring ?
2) if so, how do I install these coupled wires in the new thermostat slots ?

You don't need heat with that thermostat where you're located? I don't see why it wouldn't work. Looks like they doubled up each wire for less resistance? Assuming it looks the same at the other end.

I am from Mont-Tremblant. Heating is provided by baseboard heaters controlled by Mysa thermostats.

The original post and questions concern our AC unit.

So, after i removed the old Aube thermostat and plugged the wires in the Nest thermostat, i got an E103 wiring issue.

I don't know what cause this error message nad how to solve this issue.

That's because you have a short on the ac condenser side ..the contactor on the ac unit is bad and coil is shorted

Ohm out the contactor in the ac unit , if it's less than 12 ohms, replace it or more than 20

Thanks! Will go back to Tremblant next weekend and check that out. I will also bring an Ecobee thermostat and try to install it in place of the Nest hoping the error message to disappear in doing so.

Edit:
Problem solved ! replacing Nest thermostat by ecobee eliminates the error message. Now, ac functions perfectly.
