Hello. I saw that there is an accessory that installs in the 2" pipe, but I did not see that being mandatory in the code book. Couldn't I just make a 1/4" hole and fill it with high temp?

They used to allow us to use plastic plugs to seal the hole but I believe TSSA no longer allows this.  I heard they would be making it mandatory for every furnace install to include this test tee, but I haven't seen anything yet.

QuoteClause 8.10.4 - A special venting system or a BH venting system shall be installed in accordance with the terms of its listing and the appliance and vent manufacturer's certified installation instructions.

QuoteDrilling small holes into the vent line and plugging afterwards is no longer a permitted practice.

I went out to my local supplier, Boone and they had the bushing in stock in either PVC or CPVC. It installs into a tee.
The port of the plug is threaded. The man at the counter said no dope on it, but I'm not sure that would pass an inspection.
Should I leak lock it for good measure or use metallic pipe dope? or even glue it once done with the analysis?

I have a new Bacharach analyzer and its manual just points to a region at the exhaust, no measurement. But I'm going to install it so the port is 7" from the top of the furnace cabinet.

That sounds like what is shown in the IPEX test tee brochure above.  You should be good to go.
